As outlined in our
action plan, CAGH started to act quickly within our modest means to help the
injured people in Gressier. Gressier a small town of Haiti has been severely hit by the
earthquake. 95% of the houses in Gressier have been destroyed by the
quake and more than 2,000 people died from this catastrophic event and yet
Gressier has been forgotten by the international community
because Gressier is not a big city. So we did send an envoy to Haiti to bring some
medical supplies to our medical team.
Our collaborator
arrived in Haiti on January
25, through the neighboring Dominican Republic.
On January 28 and 29 , our collaborator, Mr. Wilson and our medical
team set up clinics in tents and under the trees, in
different regions of Gressier to treat adults and children in desperate
need of help.
We sent money to our
medical team to buy antibiotics and other medicines to treat the injured and to
prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Our medical team holds clinics in Gressier twice a week to provide care
and medicine to the patients.
