ACTION PLAN FOR EARTHQUAKE
RELIEF
We are working with the local members on ground to build temporary shelters for the
people of Gressier before the rainy season. CAGH is planning to send
envoys to Gressier to bring tents and other necessary tools to help with the relief effort.
We are planning to distribute the tents in
the following areas: School yard, Cite, Mariani, Collin, Santo, Nan Coline,
Nan Flon, Laferone, Bod Mè,
and Ti Boucan.
Leaders of each area will be contacted for food and
water distribution. Envoys will be on
the ground to supervise food and water distribution and to set up a temporary
canteen to serve lunch to children and adults.
Medicine will be sent to Gressier.
We are waiting for
a list of medicine needed and recommended by our team of doctors.
Alternate day clinic for each camp.
CAGH will send a
local team of doctors and nurse volunteers to serve those camps. We are looking
for help from international volunteer health workers. As with our other health
related activities, free medicine will be distributed.
Temporary orphanage is needed to shelter the orphans.
CAGH will set up a special camp to shelter orphans.
Therapy sessions for orphans, children, and adults.
CAGH will contact its volunteer therapists to provide post-traumatic stress
disorder treatment to the population of Gressier.
Transportation is needed for the elderly, children and
injured people.
CAGH will rent trucks to
transport food and people. CAGH will
provide transportation for the medical team to remote locations.
Temporary shelter for school.
CAGH will set up camps
to have classes for the students of the
Miscellaneous items.
Besides medicine, food, water, and tents our local members asked us to
send also masks, blankets, water purification devices, clothes, and shoes.
Those actions require money and we count on members and
friends to raise enough funds to put this plan into action.
